Our goal is to bring girls from high schools all over the Eastern Shore together and engage them in various empowering activities throughout the year. Examples of some of the activities our girls have completed include yoga, zumba, healthy cooking, how to change a tire, self-defense classes, assertiveness skills, Beyond the Limits, fishing, kayaking, and personal wellness. We also focus much of our program on teaching the girls the value of giving back to our local community. Community service activities include a prom dress drive, participation in numerous 5K events, constructing wheelchair ramps for the needy and helping other local non-profits throughout the year. We are currently entering our fourth year and have begun the recruiting process for the 2018 program.
Ultimately, through ACCEPTANCE, COMMITMENT, PERSEVERANCE AND EMPOWERMENT, the girls involved in the program will engage in activities designed to promote self-esteem, self-respect, and self-reliance over the course of one year.
We hope to improve our Giving Tuesday's funds made in 2017 this year by doubling our total funds since we are in the process of launching our Middle School program that will be added to our current High School program for local girls in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset and Dorchester counties.
