FAQ for Donors

Q. What is Giving Tuesday?

A. Giving Tuesday brings charities, families, businesses, and people from around the shore together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity. Giving Tuesday is an online giving event that provides nonprofits the opportunity to inspire the community. Celebrate the holiday season with generosity by visiting our one-stop donation shop online and give to your favorite area nonprofits all in one convenient place.  Join us on Nov. 27th as we support nonprofits in Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset Counties.

Q. Who can donate?
‚ÄčA. Anyone can donate! You may use your credit card or electronic check to give through the donation website.

Q. When can I donate?

A. Live donations occur on Giving Tuesday (November 27th).  However, you can preschedule your donation beginning November 19th.  Your donation will not be processed until November 27th, which is when you will receive your tax receipt. 

Q. Are gifts tax-deductible?
A. All donations are tax deductible and irrevocable and will be for the unrestricted use of your chosen charity.

Q. Do donors receive a tax receipt from the nonprofit?
A. Donors will receive an electronic receipt for their gift via email.

Q. Is there a minimum gift?
A. There is a minimum gift of $10.00.

Q. Is there a maximum gift?
A. There is no maximum gift!

Q. Are there fees for processing donations?
A. Yes, however you will not see these charges on your credit card.  A 2.5% fee will be applied to each organization's total fundraising dollars at the end of the campaign to cover the transaction processing fees assessed by the online payment processor.  Unfortunately, fees cannot be offset by individual donors.

Q. Can I give to multiple organizations?
A. Yes! Simply build a shopping cart with multiple donations. When you check out your order will be totaled up and your gifts will be distributed as you designated.

Q. Can I schedule reoccurring donations to my favorite nonprofits?
A. Unfortunately, we do not offer reoccurring donation features at this time. We encourage you to visit your favorite nonprofit's website to learn more about their own gift acceptance policies.
