The Wicomico Environmental Trust's water monitoring program (Creekwatchers) has volunteer citizen scientists collect water samples and record site conditions for 22 sites throughout the Wicomico River Watershed March - November on a biweekly basis. Water samples and site conditions are analyzed by Salisbury University and University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. WET's Science Team encourages watershed residents, businesses, and local government to apply science-based information into their decision-making process.
The Wicomico Creekwatchers water monitoring program costs approximately $30,000 per year to run, which is approximately $1,300 per site, so we hope to raise enough funds during Giving Tuesday to support at least 3 sites for 2018.
